Inline weight-per-meter control
Inline gravimetric weighing is converted to weight per meter in real time; the system compares it with the setpoint and adjusts screw speed and haul-off speed to hold the weight steady.
Guangzhou Fit Circle Technology focuses on inline measurement and closed-loop control for cable extrusion. The system samples weight per meter, reference wall thickness, haul-off speed and extrusion output in real time, then corrects deviations automatically through screw speed and haul-off speed synchronization, keeping process variation inside a narrower band.
Example readings from the system HMI on a production line; actual values vary with product specification and process settings
From gravimetric weighing to screw & haul-off synchronization, the system builds a closed loop around two core metrics — weight per meter and wall thickness — reducing the lag and repetition of manual adjustment.
Inline gravimetric weighing is converted to weight per meter in real time; the system compares it with the setpoint and adjusts screw speed and haul-off speed to hold the weight steady.
Compensation is applied from the reference wall thickness and the measured deviation. The compensation value can be entered manually or left to the system to control automatically.
Screw speed and haul-off speed are tuned together so extrusion output matches line speed, avoiding diameter variation caused by over-drawing or material build-up.
Weight per meter, output, haul-off speed, screw speed and hopper weight are logged together on one screen, so an abnormal trend is visible at a glance.
The HMI is built on a touchscreen. Its main screen brings together weight per meter, reference wall thickness, wire diameter, material density, wall thickness compensation, screw speed, haul-off speed and extrusion output, so operators no longer have to cross-check several instruments.
Every function maps to a real action in the extrusion shop, so operators can follow it and use it fluently.
Current weight per meter, setpoint and deviation are compared on one screen; a reading outside the allowed band is flagged immediately, so feeding and material changes are easy to follow.
Reference wall thickness and compensation value are entered per specification, and the system adjusts its control target accordingly, covering different conductor diameters and insulation layer thicknesses.
Screw speed, haul-off speed and extrusion output move together, with smooth transitions at start-up, speed-up and stop, reducing scrap cable.
Confirm the process parameter set when changing specification, so settings carried over from the previous run do not cause batch-wide deviation.
Length, weight per meter and output are recorded per take-up reel, giving the shift team data for accounting and quality traceability.
Curves for weight per meter, output, haul-off speed and screw speed are logged, abnormal states are flagged promptly, and operator access is permission-controlled.
The system is installed on the extrusion line and works with the extruder, haul-off and pay-off/take-up sections, covering the whole cycle from start-up to reel change.

The figures below are taken from photographs of the system HMI on a production line. The system continuously samples weighing, rotational speed and line speed signals from different sections and converts them into consistent process metrics on a single screen.
| Process parameter | Site reading |
|---|---|
| Weight per meter | 0.1413 kg/m |
| Reference wall thickness | 1.650 mm |
| Wire diameter | 17.50 mm |
| Material density | 1.42 g/cm³ |
| Wall thickness compensation | 0.020 mm |
| Screw speed | 41.24 rpm |
| Haul-off speed | 60.013 m/min |
| Extrusion output | 508.70 kg/h |
The plan is set against the actual conditions of the line, then calibrated and tuned step by step, so normal production is not disrupted by a single large change.
We review the extruder model, product specification, material and output requirements, and confirm the measuring points and the scope of modification.
The weighing and signal acquisition parts are installed, then weight calibration and signal integration are completed to ensure accurate data.
Control parameters are tuned; operation is observed in manual first and then switched to automatic, and the loop goes live once stability is confirmed.
Shift teams are trained on daily operation and common fault handling, with technical support provided throughout later use.
Guangzhou Fit Circle Technology Co., Ltd. is based in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, and focuses on inline measurement and control for cable extrusion. Around weight per meter — the core process metric — we provide a complete solution from signal acquisition and metering conversion to closed-loop control and data logging, delivered on a touchscreen HMI and installed directly on the extrusion line.
We believe stability matters more than impressive numbers on a specification sheet. Every function of the system exists to save the operator a trip, to keep process variation a little smaller, and to bring the weight of every reel closer to its design value.
