Inline extrusion measurement & control · weight-per-meter loop

Case Studies

The weight-per-meter control system is already installed on the extrusion lines of more than 30 wire and cable plants in South China and Central China, covering LSZH cable, low- and medium-voltage cable, extra-high-voltage cable, household wiring and optical fiber cable. Below are some photographs taken on site.

Installed base

Not demo units, but batch installations on production lines

The figures below follow the counting basis for delivered projects; demo units and trials are not included.

30+ plants

Wire and cable plants

More than 20 in South China and 10 in Central China, all retrofitted at the extrusion process or supplied with a new line.

Product lines covered

LSZH cable, low- and medium-voltage cable, extra-high-voltage cable, household wiring, optical fiber cable.

Delivery radius

Guangdong is the center, spreading across South China; in Central China projects are delivered by on-site survey plus installation at the plant.

On-site photos

The retrofit sits at the feed end of the whole extrusion line and does not touch the main machine structure

Extruder feed section retrofit complete: a stainless steel weighing hopper and blue control cabinet are mounted at the top of the feed port, and the weighing signal goes directly into the control loop.

Product categories

Different cable products call for a different control focus

Low-voltage power cable / household wiring

High output and frequent specification changes; the focus is to hold weight per meter near the target and reduce the material waste caused by sitting at the upper limit over the long run.

Medium- and high-voltage / extra-high-voltage cable

Thick insulation layer and large material usage per meter; the focus is consistency along the whole length. We already have installation records on extra-high-voltage cable extrusion lines.

Low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) cable

Material density and flow behavior vary widely; the focus is fast convergence after a material change, to avoid long transition sections of scrap cable.

Optical fiber cable

Thin sheath and small cable diameter; the focus is uniformity and the efficiency of material changes and cleaning with a small hopper.

The categories above are those where the system is already installed; whether a specific machine model and specification fits is subject to the conclusion of an on-site survey.
